Teacher Qualification

As an approved QUALIFI Learning Centre with the ability to offer a range of OFQUAL approved qualifications for teachers, Tellal can provide qualifying teacher training programmes to pre-service teachers as well as in-service trainee teachers who may already working in schools in both English and Arabic.

As an Our teacher learning and development programmes are competency based and accessible in a variety of modes to suit a range of needs. From programmes for novice teachers to more advanced, experienced practitioners, teachers are offered the opportunity to select from a menu of programmes that can be personalized to meet the specific needs of the individual. Furthermore, our range of specialist programmes cater specifically to Early Years, Arabic Language, Moral Education and Special Educational Needs and Disability teachers and are created and curated by expert pedagogues in their respective fields.

Diploma in Global Teaching Practice

 

The Diploma in Global Teaching Practice (DGTP) and the Extended Diploma in Global Teaching Practice (EDGTP) enable Graduate Trainees and Teachers to exit with a Teaching Qualification to teach in schools (K-12). They have been designed according to the tried and tested School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) in England. The delivery of the DGTP and EDGTP is supported by experienced practicing teachers based in their own school or a school in an alliance of schools. In this networked model of training, the alliance of schools provides practical, hands-on teacher training. Training as part of the programme will give participants the opportunity to learn ‘on the job’ as they engage in their 120-day Professional Placement.

Extended Diploma in Arabic Language Pedagogy 

The Arabic Language Pedagogy unit is one of the optional units available for participants enrolled in the Extended Diploma in Global Teaching Practice (EDGTP). This unit has been structured to enable participants to engage in a 60- hour specialist training programme that promotes a critical understanding of Arabic language awareness in teaching and Arabic language learning and teaching. Demonstrate an awareness of the Arabic language systems and skills. Student teachers will examine methods and approaches in teaching the Arabic language as a first and second language. 

Suitable for individuals who meet the following criteria:
  • An undergraduate degree equivalent to three years full time study at UK level 6
  • English proficiency; e.g. IELTS Academic 6.0 (min. of 6 in reading and writing and 5.5 in speaking and listening) is required for applicant who will study in the medium of English.

      Partnerships are made with identified schools to provide mentors for the duration of the programme. TELLAL Institute recognises that the success of Graduate Teachers and Graduate Trainees is influenced by the quality of support provided by the Partner School (e.g. involved school stakeholders who fully understand the apprenticeship model, supportive wider school faculty, rich resource base, etc).
